A Letter to a Freshmen
FRESHMEN YEAR IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER, AND THE BEST 4 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE ARE WAITING FOR YOU!
You are probably feeling a mix of emotions right now, but it is important to remember that you are not alone. There are hundreds of other girls in your shoes! When I graduated high school, I barely knew anything about sororities besides what I’ve seen in movies.
When entering my first semester of college, I was SO excited for Sorority Recruitment. For those of you who don’t know how Sorority Recruitment works, this is when you get to meet all chapters on your campus and get to know a few girls within the chapter.
Looking back at my 4 years of Greek Life, I have made some of the best memories, that all started with a t-shirt. It’s much more than just a t shirt.
Freshman year is all about the years of “firsts”. Your first homecoming, first recruitment, finding out who your big is, and so much more!
One lesson that I’ve taken away from being in a Sorority is to put yourself out there. I did just that, and became the t-shirt chair for my chapter and made that connection with Greek House. It was so inspiring to see how one simple design can create years of memories.
4 years later I said my final farewell to my Sorority sisters. As we were packing our bags, we went through all of the Sorority T-shirts, Sorority hoodies, etc. This was a constant reminder that Greek Life is not just for 4 years, but it’s for life. The memories and connections that I made at the University of Miami and with Greek House, shaped me into the person I am today.
Finally, I urge you to take that first step in joining a sorority, becoming a part of the Greek Life family, and shopping at Greek House. You won’t regret it!
